In the first year of birth, the baby's physical growth and development, motor ability development, etc. will undergo very obvious changes at different stages. We should try our best to choose the best clothing style for the baby according to the developmental characteristics of the baby.

1. 0-2 months old: monk clothes
The newborn's body is soft, especially the head and neck muscles have not yet developed, so be careful when dressing and undressing.

Monk clothes, as the name suggests, are like the clothes worn by monks. They are slanted and strappy, and are safe and easy to put on and take off. At the same time, the width of the clothes can also be adjusted according to the size of the baby, which is very practical.

Try not to choose pullover clothes at this stage, so as not to strain the weak baby.

2. 3-5 months old: one-piece (romper)
As your baby grows, your baby's range of motion begins to expand.

After about 3 months of age, they like to struggle to look up and around, and they like to be held upright by adults; by about 4 months of age, they can support their head and chest on their elbows (although they don't always have to support their head and neck, but still This area needs to be protected); their legs are also stronger and more active, and some can even turn over by kicking them into a prone position.

The focus of dressing at this stage should try to ensure that the clothing does not restrict the baby's activities.

Bodysuits are a good choice. It is a style where the top and trousers are connected. On the one hand, it is loose and has no restraint, will not strangle the waist, and will not have any restrictions on the baby's dancing movements. It will lift up or slide down due to the movement of the baby or the vertical hug of the adult.

Moreover, for us, its biggest advantage is the convenience of changing diapers for babies, as long as the button under the crotch is opened, it can be changed without taking off clothes.

3. 6-12 months old: gradually transition from one-piece to upper and lower split underwear

At this stage, the baby's range of motion begins to expand.

Around 6 months of age, their back, neck strength and trunk balance gradually increase, allowing them to learn to sit up; around 8 months of age, they can stand up by themselves holding something; between 7-10 months of age, their The crawling ability went from clumsy to proficient.

Compared with the one-piece suit, the upper and lower split clothes give the baby more freedom of movement, and will not restrain or affect their standing, leg raising, crawling and other actions.
But the onesie still has a great advantage when the baby is lying down to play or sleep.

Therefore, it is recommended to wear the two styles alternately and gradually transition.

At the same time, when purchasing upper and lower split clothes, it is best to choose a style with shoulder buttons for pullover tops, which is easy to put on and take off; for bottoms, you can choose non-crotch pants or snap-on crotch pants to ensure hygiene.

4. After 12 months: upper and lower split underwear

Babies usually take their first steps in life between the ages of 12-18 months.

During the toddler period, their scope of exploration becomes larger, and they spend very little time sitting and lying down when awake. Except for sleeping, they basically don’t need to wear one-piece suits.

At the same time, they will inevitably fall down and lie down (or kneel or sit) on the ground. My personal experience is that at this time, the upper and lower split pants for the baby should fit as much as possible, not too long or too long, so as not to have too long sleeves and trousers, which will affect their exploration or learning behavior; I will buy more dark colors. The knee part is designed with knee pads, which is resistant to dirt and wear.
